David Yanda

David Yanda is the Chief Operations Officer and a Partner of Chicago FoodService Consultants.

Consulting Experience

David has over 14 years of foodservice industry experience in operations, consulting and marketing. In addition to his position with the Chicago FoodService Consultants, David is the Director of Operations for Mainstay Hospitality, LLC, a real estate development and restaurant operations company in Chicago with 5 full service and limited service locations including the Millennium Park foodservice facilities.

David has experience in consulting with regional and national restaurant chains as well as foodservice manufacturers. As a Senior Consultant with the national firm Technomic, David specialized in working with limited-service and full-service restaurant companies in operations assessment, unit and corporate economic analysis, competitive benchmarking, and improvement strategies. In technology, David advised restaurant companies looking to invest and implement foodservice-specific IT applications such as POS systems, accounting and operational software applications, reservation and table-management systems, and supply chain applications. David also worked in strategic planning, merger and acquisition assessment, concept development, and other aspects of commercial and institutional operations.

Industry Experience

Prior to Technomic, David was National Director of Sales and Implementation for CriticalArc Technologies, a supply chain management software provider for restaurant chains and foodservice distributors. In addition to being the top salesperson in each of the 3 years he was with CriticalArc, David managed client training and implementation of the applications to client locations including some of largest and most respected companies in the foodservice industry. David has worked as an independent consultant helping to market and implement CRM software applications across national restaurant chains.  

In addition, David was with Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises as General Manager with multi-unit responsibilities. David oversaw 5 restaurants, of which 3 were new restaurant openings, in both Minneapolis and Chicago. His responsibilities included multi-unit operations, customer service, P&L budgeting and control, staff management and training, menu development, and public relations, as well as property and facilities management.

Organizations and Education

David is a Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing at the University of Iowa.
